New Custom Build Computer

2018

Project Background

Since my original custom build PC was getting old, I decided to upgrade. Since I was facing issues with my Motherboard and the processor was getting old, I decided that the best cause of action was to start again. I decided to go with AMD on this occasion and I think it was a good choice, especially due to the amount of money I was able to save.

Specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700
  • Motherboard: AsRock AB350M Pro 4
  • RAM: 8 GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4
  • PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 650
  • GPU: Zotac Nvidia 1050Ti OC edition
  • Case: CiT Voyager
  • OS: Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon

I moved to Linux Mint!

Whilst the first Operating System that I installed on my new rig was Windows 10, I decided to move on to Linux Mint 19.1 Cinnamon. I believe that this was a great move, especially since it allowed me to learn about Linux in more depth.

The article below explains my move to Linux Mint in more depth...
